Sydney/Brisbane News Director
Renee Smith has worked with Mix 106.5 since 2006.
It’s her 2nd time around with the Australian Radio Network – after starting her radio career at our sister station 4KQ in Brisbane.
Renee studied at the University of Qld, graduating with a Bachelor of Journalism.
She's worked for several stations in Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Sydney.
After years of early starts doing the breakfast shift, Renee is right where she wants to be presenting and editing drive news on Mix 106.5.
After a short stint as a lawyer, Nehal decided to follow her dream and read the news. She swapped the courtroom for the newsroom in 2009 and hasn’t looked back since.
Nehal kicked off her radio career as the breakfast newsreader on The Edge 96.One
She now wakes up Sydney every weekday with Rosso and Claire on Sydney’s Mix 106.5
Erin's day involves gathering, writing and editing the news before heading out on the road to chase politicians, celebrities and other interesting folk.
Erin started her career in National Radio News in Bathurst, before moving to the big city to spread her wings.
She’s also a keen runner, completing the Great Wall of China half marathon in May 2011.
Mark has worked at a string of radio stations and newspapers across Sydney including the Sydney Morning Herald, the ABC, and other commercial radio stations.
Before making the move into radio he studied Journalism at the University of Western Sydney, graduating with distinction and being awarded a place on the Dean's merit list three years running.
He's a born and bred Sydney-sider, passionate about news and politics, and spends his weekdays reporting on the road based at NSW Parliament covering police, courts, politics and breaking news and the other days editing and reading weekend bulletins from the newsroom.
Andrew Laird is one of our casual newsreaders who can be heard filling in at all different times of the day.
His start in radio was in Orange in the state's Central West (think scrapping ice off your car windscreen at 4AM in sub zero temperatures - not fun!). He then moved to Sydney to work at 2UE as a news reporter before moving to Mix106.5.
He grew up in Sydney's north west but now lives with his wife in the Inner West where the planes track straight down his street. But he reckons the numerous cafes and places for bike riding make up for it!
