The 3pm Pick-Up is going back to school with SPC.We asked our Smart Shoppers to trial SPC Fruit Snacks in their kids' lunchboxes. Here's what they had to say:
What the Smart Shoppers thought:
"My family and I were very impressed with the SPC fruit snacks. We tried the Fruit Crush-Ups, both frozen and chilled, and they were delicious. A really smooth, tasty and healthy snack. My 7-year-old has already asked me to pack those in her daily lunchbox once school returns! My 2-year-old particularly enjoyed the tropical flavour and the packaging is a great, convenient way to ensure that she is eating a little extra fruit each day. The pouches are mess-free and easy to pack, and eat, when you are going out." Tracey
"I have older children living at home – fussy as. I have always had to fight to get them to eat fruit. These were a hit. No mess, no ‘juice’ going everywhere, no biting on the ‘stone’. I was lucky enough to have a taste as well and I will be purchasing these for myself. I froze one and put it in with my lunch. Was ready to go by lunch time – still cold and had kept my sandwich cool too. I can’t compare with anything except the fresh fruit but as these store in the cupboard all year round – they are winners in this house."Wendy
"After 3 years of struggling with trying to get fruit into my little ones mouths, finally an easy, healthy solution. Either frozen, to suck on, or just as is, these Fruit Crush-Ups and Power Pulps are delicious!!! We even tried one for dessert over ice cream, what a lovely finish for the day. They all got eaten up. These are a must for school lunches as they won't go off in the lunch boxes, which means less clean up, yay!!"Samantha
"Fruit Crush-Ups Tropical flavour: This one had the taste of summer fruits which was very nice to eat a little bit thicker than the strawberry one. I personally like this one my kids also loved it they ate this one so quickly and they were asking for more. A lunch box fav for sure. Power Pulp Tropical: This one was nice especially frozen the taste was so tangy it made you want to eat more this one is good for teens A better tasting one then other brands. Freeze then put them in your teen’s bag for school they will eat them." Kim
"My 6 year old daughter loved the concept of a cross between a juice and a slushie so thought if it as a treat. She preferred the strawberry and mixed berry. I would be happy to provide these for my daughter's lunchbox as a treat particularly on a hot day as they do not contain added sugar and would be a great alternative to a slushie or ice block from the school canteen." Meera
"Getting my 9yr old to enjoy fruit is a challenge in the warmer weather. Other brands have tried to make eating fruit interesting by putting it in jelly cups or by slicing and dicing it, but this too gets hot in the lunch box and is unappealing to my little girl. SPC Fruit crush-ups are easy to freeze and can be kept cold for most of the day in the lunchbox. As my daughter said...they taste better than a freezie! We then decided to try something different, we poured the strawberry crush-up in a bowl and heated it for 20 sec in the microwave then had it with icecream. My daughters response......Can you please ask them to send us some more to try!!" Laura
